How to automate your recurring sales invoices

DO YOU EVER INVOICE YOUR CLIENTS THE SAME AMOUNT REGULARLY?

Did you know that you can set up a repeating invoice in Xero?

This is a real time and energy saver if you are invoicing customers for the same amount every month - for example a monthly rental, subscription or a retainer.

So, here’s how to do it:

Head over to your Xero dashboard:

  • Select Business in the blue menu bar along the top

  • Select Invoices in drop-down menu

  • Select the Repeating tab

  • Select New Repeating Invoice

You can then take a few minutes to set up your custom invoicing dates and then you don’t worry about it again. Xero will automatically create and email invoices to your customers each month — you don’t have to do a thing!

If you want to automate things even further, then you can use the GoCardless integration in Xero to get clients to pay via Direct Debit.

And even better – once the invoice is paid, the reconciliation is done automatically in Xero.
